Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about URLNIX.

What is URLNIX?
URLNIX is a URL shortener and link management platform. It converts long web addresses into short, shareable links and tracks click analytics — device type, country, browser, and referrer — without storing personally identifiable visitor data.
Is URLNIX free?
Yes. The free plan lets you shorten up to 20 links per day and keeps them permanently. No sign-in is required to create a guest link, which expires after 24 hours. The Pro plan (₹299/month or ₹2499/year) unlocks advanced analytics, custom aliases, QR downloads, link expiry, and password protection.
Do I need to create an account?
No account is needed to shorten a link. Guest links expire after 24 hours. Creating a free account makes links permanent and adds basic click tracking.
How do I shorten a URL?
Paste your long URL into the shortener on the URLNIX homepage and click Shorten. You'll get a short link (e.g. urlnix.live/abc123) instantly that you can copy and share.
Can I use a custom alias instead of a random code?
Yes — Pro users can set a custom alias (e.g. urlnix.live/my-brand) instead of the default random 7-character code.
Does URLNIX generate QR codes?
Yes. Every shortened link automatically gets a QR code that you can scan and download as a high-resolution PNG.
Can I see who clicked my link?
URLNIX records device type, browser, OS, country, city, and referrer for each click. No personally identifiable data (names, emails, raw IP addresses) is stored or shown.
Can I set a link to expire?
Yes. Pro users can set a link to expire after a specific date, after a maximum number of clicks, or both.
Can I password-protect a link?
Yes — Pro users can gate any short link behind a password. Only visitors who enter the correct password are redirected.
Does URLNIX auto-renew my subscription?
No. URLNIX uses a manual-renewal model. When your Pro period ends your account reverts to Free — no automatic charges.
What payment methods are accepted?
URLNIX uses Razorpay, which supports credit/debit cards, UPI, Net Banking, and popular digital wallets in India.
Can I edit where a short link points after sharing it?
Yes — Pro users can change the destination URL at any time without changing the short code.
